In response to media statements and concerns expressed during the President's year concluding press conference, President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka to conduct an objective and comprehensive investigation of the activities of Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration Chairman Vasyl Yadukha and Velyka Novosilka District Council of the Donetsk Region Chairman Valeriy Shyra, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

"I propose to provide a full and impartial verification of information provided by the media during a press conference on the activities of Khmelnytsky region governor Vasyl Yadukha and chairman of Velyka Novosilka District Council in Donetsk region Valeriy Shyra and to take, based on the results of the examination, comprehensive measures of response in accordance with the law," reads an order of President Yanukovych.

The Prosecutor General is to report on the investigation results by January 20, 2012.

President Yanukovych also instructed Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to ensure the provision of funds in the 2012 draft Budget for building the second part of a water supply from the village of Chernelivka to the city of Khmelnitsky.

In addition, the Cabinet was instructed to ensure the completion of Volyn Regional Perinatal Center construction in the city of Lutsk, and the construction and reconstruction of Kyiv-Cherkasy-Dnipropetrovsk highway.
