
The museum, according to experts, is interesting for its conceptual idea, proposed by the Chairman of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities (Vaad) of Ukraine Joseph Zissels. His exposition displays the characteristic features of the Bucovina Jewry - the phenomenon of the XIX - early XX centuries.
The founders of the Museum are the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities (Vaad) of Ukraine and Chernivtsi Jewish Social and Cultural Foundation. Subject sections of the display were created by researchers from Chernivtsi National University, and documents were provided by the Regional State Archive of Chernivtsi Region, researchers from the University of Jerusalem, Columbia University and Institute of IBO in New York, Museum of the Holocaust in Washington.
The museum was built in association with Hesed Shushana Charitable Foundation, Or Avner Center, famous historians, collectors and representatives of the diaspora.
