The prosecution in Tymoshenko's appeal believes that former Premier tries to manipulate public conscience demanding to bring her to court lying down, representative of the state prosecution Lilia Frolova told journalists during a break in court hearings.

"I believe this is pure manipulation of public conscience. Do you remember Mass Medias showed on TV the cell of the medical wing, where Tymoshenko is being kept now? I paid attention to the shoes near the bed - there were big platform shoes. Tell me please, if a person has pain in the back would she wear platform shoes or heels? The answer is no," Frolova said.

As a reminder, today's court hearings are going in Tymoshenko's absence. Earlier this morning Tymoshenko asked the management of the Kyiv detention facility to deliver her to court for the hearing in her appeal.

“In spite of her health and the fact that she can’t walk on her own, because there is so much speculation about her health, she demanded that she be brought to court,” Serhiy Vlasenko told journalists before the start of the court session.
