EU calls upon Ukraine to hold transparent elections

The European Union welcomes the adoption of the new law on parliamentary elections, Presdient of the Council of the European Union Herman van Rompuy said during the Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.

At the same time he underlined that the elections must be open to all candidates and must be in line with the values of Ukraine.

Van Rompuy pointed out that such summits give an opportunity to improve relations between Ukraine and the EU, as well as to agree upon priorities for the future. "But political certainty remains the key of the success," he noted.
