A memorandum of unification of the left and center-left parties was adopted after the unification congress of some political forces, the Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU) said in a statement posted on its website, according to UKRINFORM.

It was announced that the Socialist Party, headed by Oleksandr Moroz, incorporated: Peasant Party of Ukraine headed by Zynoviy Holodniuk, Socialist Ukraine Party headed by Volodymyr Hoshovsky, All-Ukrainian Party "Children of War" led by Valeriy Ivashchenko, Children of War of the People's Party of Ukraine headed by Vasyl Patlachuk, Cossack Glory Party headed by Stanislav Selivanov.

A joint meeting also adopted a manifesto of the Socialist Party of Ukraine "Towards a Society of Social Justice." It "highlighted program goals and objectives of the SPU on building democratic socialism in Ukraine," the SPU said.

A reminder that in October Moroz said that the Socialist Party intended to incorporate nine left parties to take seats in Verkhovna Rada in the 2012parliamentary elections.
