Today, December 19, Ukraine-EU summit starts in Kyiv with participation of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, President of the European commission Jose Manuel Barroso and President of EU Council Herman van Rompuy.
The summit's agenda provides for discussion of reforms in Ukraine in the context of Association agreement between Ukraine and the EU, including free trade area and visa liberalization regime.
Besides, the agenda includes investment climate of Ukraine, as well as regional and international issues, including relations with Belarus and Moldova.
Special attention will be paid to energy issues in the context of relations with Russia.
It was expected that during the summit the sides would initial the Association agreement, but certain statements from Ukrainian and European sides indicate that this procedure is technically unready.
