Ukraine welcomes the holding of peace elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire on December 11 this year, the press service of the foreign ministry reported.
"Formation in the near future of the supreme legislative body of that country will complete the return of Cote d'Ivoire to the constitutional forms of government that will help benefit socio-economic development and establish social harmony in that country," the foreign ministry said, according to UKRINFORM.
In addition, it is noted that Ukraine as a state, which took a direct part in logistic support for those elections, is ready to further develop and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire in various fields, including trade and economic.
As reported, Ukrainian peacekeepers from the 56th separate helicopter detachment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces among the UN Mission in Liberia participated in providing air support for the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire.
