Production of national antiretroviral agents will be arranged in Ukraine in two years, the press service of the Health Ministry informs, according to UKRINFORM.
"Preparatory work for launching of the national line for production of antiretroviral agents will continue for two years, since there are legislative gaps in this issue. In addition, the issues of patenting and quality control should be solved," head of the state service for fighting HIV/AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases Tetiana Aleksandrina has said at a meeting with representatives of the Health Ministry, the Verkhovna Rada branch committee, the state service of Ukraine for medicaments, and public organizations.
According to Aleksandrina, currently it is necessary to determine the range of preparations, which Ukraine can produce and next stage should be development of the algorithm of their production.
By results of the meeting, it was decided to set up an interdepartmental group, which will coordinate the national pilot project for production of antiretroviral agents for AIDS patients.
