Czech Republic consistently supports Ukraine on its path towards the European Union, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Ivan Počuch said this at the meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn on Tuesday, ForUm learned from the parliamentary press office.

The Ambassador expressed a hope that "despite certain difficulties, the process of Ukraine's European integration will not stop", and Ukraine-EU summit on December 19, 2011 will give it a new impulse.  

In his turn Lytvyn expressed his desire on that "Ukraine does not lose its chance to realize its European choice", as signing of the association agreement is a political choice of the country.  
Lytvyn underlined said that Ukrainian politicians support the European vector of state development which is to be considered by the European institutions. "It will prevent growth of disappointment and alienation in the Ukrainian society, which is not to the benefit of Ukraine or the European community," Lytvyn stressed.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also said that Ukraine "is a complicated country in its psychological, mental, ethnical, religious, and foreign policy respect." Therefore, politics "should follow a balanced line which is not that fast and effective but at least does not shake the state boat." "Steady development relies on consensus," he summed up.
