Tariffs for housing and communal services will reach economically sound level not earlier than in four years, Minister for regional development, construction and housing services Anatoly Blyzniuk says, ForUm learned from the press office of the Ministry.

"The level of income of our citizens does not allow increasing in a shake the tariffs for communal services up to economically sound level. According to our estimations, minimum three-four years are needed. For this period we must reach the proper level of income of the population and to solve problems of technical re-equipping of the industry, so that housing and communal enterprises can start working profitably," Blyzniuk said.

According to him, the world experience proves that the key role in this process plays public-private partnership. "New technologies must be implemented under new managing standards. Public-private partnership will allow introduction of modern methods of management," he noted.

The Minister also pointed out that public-private partnership is not very popular among the society due to poor regulatory system and corruption. According to Blyzniuk, the society needs some positive examples of modern management system, which will help to get rid of negative stereotypes of the past.
