Ukraine is keen to complete the Association Agreement negotiations with the European Union before the end of the year, President Viktor Yanukovych said at today’s International Conference “Investconference in Kyiv 2011."
"I would like to reiterate our clear political will to complete the difficult process of negotiations on the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union in 2011," he said, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
Viktor Yanukovych made generally positive remarks about the progress of negotiations on the political part of the Agreement, and on free trade both. He urged businesses to support Ukraine in this process.
"For many of you - representatives of multinational companies - removing the barriers to trade and investment flows between the EU and Ukraine is also of great importance. Therefore, I count on your support as advocates of the European integration of Ukraine," he stressed.
The President stressed that in the framework of its European integration course Ukraine implements a series of reforms and transformations. "All the reforms now taking place in the country are a part of the European integration process, the active phase of which we have started more than a year ago," he said.
The President said that effective reforms implementation would increase the investment attractiveness of Ukraine.
