President Viktor Yanukovych has signed the Law 4061-VI On the Elections of People's Deputies of Ukraine, adopted by the Parliament on November 17 , 2011, Chief of Staff Serhiy Lyovochkin informed, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
Viktor Yanukovych welcomes the consolidation of all political forces in the Parliament about the Election Law.
The law had been prepared with the participation of national and international experts, does meet international standards of democracy, and is the implementation of relevant international obligations of Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine believes that the forthcoming parliamentary elections to be held under this law would be democratic and facilitate free expression of the Ukrainian people’s will.
