Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov plans to toughen control over the sale of toys. According to him, many goods for children, including toys, are of low quality and often dangerous for health, ForUm correspondent reports.

Azarov complained that the state cannot check the majority part of the production, as it is realized by entrepreneurs - individuals, and the law forbids holding inspections into their activity. "I propose to return to such practice and to authorize state inspections to hold the most thorough checking," Azarov told the Cabinet.

The PM also proposed to increase fines for traders of children's goods of poor quality. "In case of revealing production, which threatens the life and health, the department of market control will withdraw these goods, fine the producer and importer and oblige them to recall poor products compensating the damage to consumers," the Premier declared.

Azarov informed that the relevant decision will be made at the next session of the Cabinet.
