Development of education in Ukraine takes place based on the quantitative sign rather than qualitative.
According to the rating of global competitiveness of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Ukraine is among the first 20 countries by spread of higher and secondary education, UKRINFORM reports citing Delo newspaper.
By the number of people with higher education, Ukraine ranks eighth out of 142 world countries. At the same time, by the quality of education Ukraine is at the very end of rating. In particular, by the quality of higher education it ranks 83rd, but by the quality of professional training - 103rd.
According to experts of the World Economic Forum, Ukraine has a very low quality of teaching management, a discipline which is extremely important for economic development of the state. The level of Ukrainian business schools fails to meet international standards.
Heads of Ukrainian companies, who participated in the WEF poll, estimated the quality of teaching at national business schools at 2.97 out of seven points. On average, this index in the world makes up 4.18 points.
By the level of teaching mathematics and natural sciences Ukraine is 70th out of 142 world countries, at the level of Zimbabwe and Kenya.
