The recent introduction of visa-free travel between Ukraine and Israel would greatly intensify the contacts between our countries, President Viktor Yanukovych said in his speech at the ceremony to welcome him on a state visit to Israel, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

"Without a doubt, the decision brings benefits too the citizens of our friendly countries. This step greatly intensifies interpersonal, cultural, and business contacts," said Viktor Yanukovych. He called it symbolic that the visa-free travel has entered into force exactly on the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishing between Ukraine and Israel.

The next task in the context of deepening Ukrainian-Israeli relations the President called the introduction of a free trade area between Ukraine and Israel. Viktor Yanukovych expressed his certainty that our countries now have numerous opportunities to develop reliable and partnership relations.

"In this connection, I attach special importance to my state visit to Israel and believe that its results will contribute to filling our bilateral cooperation with practical content and opening a new page in relations between the two friendly countries," said Viktor Yanukovych.
