The dialogue between Ukraine and Russia is currently on a new level, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
According to the Ukrainian President, Ukraine and Russia now have all the prerequisites for the development of extensive and effective cooperation. In this regard, he said, particular attention should be paid to creating conditions for active cooperation between the countries' regions, which could give a new impetus to the economic development of Ukraine and Russia.
"This is an area, where the Federation Council of Russia can take the most active part and become a moderator of this work together with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," he stressed.
"This work has enormous untapped potential," Viktor Yanukovych said.
