District administrative court of Kyiv has banned tourist tours to Chernobyl zone, canceling the decree of Emergency Control Ministry and meeting the claim of Prosecutor's General Office.

"The court has recognized the position of the prosecution on violation of the law," says the statement of the Prosecutor's General Office.

February 18, 2011 the Emergency Control Ministry adopted visiting rules of Chernobyl zone for Ukrainian citizens, foreign delegations and foreign tourists through tour operators. The Emergency Ministry state then it agreed the rules with Health Ministry, Security Service and Foreign Ministry.

However, on May 10, 2011 Prosecutor's General Office of Ukraine protested the rules saying they do not correspond with the current legislation.

On June 6 the prosecution appealed to the District administrative court of Kyiv to cancel the decree by the Emergency Ministry.
