Effective reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is of primary importance for the government President Viktor Yanukovych said during his visit to the Cadet Corps Lyceum named after Ivan Kharytonenko in Sumy, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
"The government of the state pays special attention to military development and military reform," he said. He reminded, in particular, that a new revision of the National Security Strategy and draft Military Doctrine of Ukraine has been prepared that should be adopted soon.
"The armed forces expect radical changes," the President said, adding that it is hard to overestimate the role of highly educated officers in this process.
"As President and Supreme Commander, I will continue to pay attention to the quality of training of personnel reserve for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the creation of adequate material and technical base for training cadets," Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
