Kyiv is solving urgent issues on preparation to Euro-2012 championship, deputy Kyiv mayor Anatoly Golubchenko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

Among the pressing issues the deputy mayor pointed out traffic in the center. "On November 11 we finally determined the order of traffic in the stadium's zone, and the construction of the parking will be finished before April," he informed.

The second problem is the fan-zone in the center of the city, sized for 70-90 thousand people. This number may be increased by 70 thousand fans from the stadium, and we must solve the problem of simultaneous stay of all these people in the center, Golubchenko explained.

Golubchenk also noted that it is needed 7 300 places to accommodate UEFA family. The city has dwelling contracts for 6350 places, and Kyiv is constructing new hotels with total number of 1460 places. Other 17 800 places are needed to accommodate fans, according to the official.

The deputy mayor not concerned over surplus of hotels after the championship. "I don't know such careless investors, who invest huge money into infrastructure without thinking what do to do with it after the championship," he said.

For now there are three types of accommodations: two-, three-star hotels, hostels and tourist camps within 70 kilometers from Kyiv.
