Foreign Ministry of Ukraine insistently recommends Ukrainians living in Syria to come home, spokesman of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Oleksandr Dykusarov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

But, according to him, Ukrainian citizens do not hurry to come back to Ukraine.

He reminded that two weeks ago three Ukrainians were delivered back to Ukraine. "However, other our citizens, contacted by our embassy, refused to leave Syria," he underlined.

Dykusarov also declared that Ukraine stands for negotiations between Syrian authorities and opposition. "We stand for peace in Syria and for broad dialogue among the government, opposition, local public and religious organizations in order to solve the problems," he summed up.

As a reminder, anti-governmental protest actions have been held in Syria since March. The opposition demands the dismissal of the President Bashar al-Assad. US and EU repeatedly call upon Assad to resign.
