President's aid Andriy Portnov said in an interview with Segodnia newspaper that according to new Criminal Code Ukrainian citizens can be detained for five days without arrest.
"The new draft of Criminal Code says that a citizen can be detained for three days, and a court can prolong the detention up to five days," Portnov said.
"Experts recommend specifying details on the procedure during the additional two days, and we will work out some amendments to determine the rights and obligations of prosecution and defense for these two days," the official said.
