Today's night a tragedy happened in the Kyiv Zoo - some stray dogs strangled seven storks, director of the Zoo Oleksiy Tolstoukhiv told Segodnia newspaper. "Five dogs killed seven storks overnight. This is terrible!"
Zoo authorities have not figured out yet how the stray dogs entered the guarded territory. Tolstoukhiv assumed the dogs might have dug under the fence.
"It is not a fault of our guards; it is the problem of the whole city. The city authorities should have solved the problem of the stray dogs long time ago, and here are the consequences," the Zoo director said. According to him, stray animals happened to attacked Zoo animals before. Some years ago stray dogs killed wild sheep.
