The parliament of Ukraine has adopted as a whole the presidential draft bill on humanization of responsibility for economic crimes with 268 votes under 226 necessary ones.
At the same time the MPs have not adopted any of various amendments on decriminalization of the article according to which Yulia Tymoshenko was processed and convicted. In particular, the MPs refused to withdraw the article from the Criminal Code or lighten punishment.
The MPs also failed to adopt the amendment submitted by the committee, which provides for cancellation of sentences for those, whose conviction has not come into force yet or release from the custody of those, who are serving the sentence in accordance with the articles, which have been just decriminalize by the parliament. Only six MPs supported the given amendment.
