Five hundred participants in the mitigation of the Chornobyl accident aftermath occupied this morning the assembly hall of the regional administration of the Pension Fund in Kharkiv, UKRINFORM reported.

"We demand that court decisions be implemented and pension be paid in full," Volodymyr Proskurin, chairman of the city committee of Chornobyl disaster liquidators, says, adding, "This is a legal requirement, although it has not been met for several months in a row. We will not leave the premises until we achieve guarantees of payment."

However, the local pension fund says currently its budget has no funds for the execution of the relevant court decisions, and cash for the payment of pensions is under the management of Kyiv.

The protesters are preparing an appeal to the government.
