The MPs of Ukraine have not passed the amendment on decriminalization of economic crimes, which provides for cancellation of the whole article 365 of the Criminal Code and its substitution with a revised version.
The cancellation of this article, supported only by147 MPs, would have allowed releasing Yulia Tymoshenko from custody.
As reported, Yulia Tymoshenko was convicted to seven years of imprisonment in accordance with the article 365 of the Criminal Code for abuse of power while signing the gas contracts with Russia in 2009.
