Speaker of the parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn told a briefing he decreed not to close roads or suspend traffic for corteges of heads of parliament and government, ForUm correspondent reported.

"I ordered the Interior Minister not to close roads or regulate traffic for corteges of speaker or Prime Minister. I want to point out that this decree contradicts with the law on high ranked officials, which provides for corresponding regulation of traffic. But being a driver myself, I understand the question," he said.

At the same time the speaker underlined that the decree does not concern the President of Ukraine. "Taking into account the fact that the head of state is elected by people, I believe he should move freely and safely wherever he needs to," Lytyn said.
