Ukraine and Serbia will begin work to prepare a free-trade agreement,
President Viktor Yanukovych said in a statement following the
Ukrainian-Serbian negotiations.
"We agreed that we start the procedure of preparation of a free-trade agreement between our countries," he said.
He expressed the belief that the official visit of his Serbian colleague to Ukraine gave a qualitatively new impetus to the comprehensive development of Ukrainian-Serbian relations. " It provided the strengthening of partnership between Ukraine and Serbia in the questions of strategic importance for our countries and became a significant step in strengthening the traditional friendship between the peoples of our countries," said Viktor Yanukovych.
