Exchanging experience with Serbia on cooperation with the European Union is beneficial for Ukraine, President Viktor Yanukovych said at his joint press conference with President Boris Tadic of Serbia.
The question of European integration is a priority and has strategic importance for both Ukraine and Serbia, President Yanukovych said, so the two states would cooperate as partners in this area. "We have reached the common conclusion that European integration is not an end in itself. It is a process that brings our countries to the world standards of living, which our peoples aspire. We will always be interested in this, and it will always unite us," said Viktor Yanukovych.
In this connection, he congratulated Serbian partners on the adoption of the European Commission recommendations to provide the Republic of Serbia with the EU membership candidate status.
