There will be no hasty staff reshuffle in the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, newly appointed Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko has said.

"I take a general approach of not being too hasty to change personnel. I have become accustomed to learning about the professional skills of people and seeing what they have done that is useful, and how useful they are to the system of the Interior Ministry's agencies. After that, I'll make my decisions," he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

Zakharchenko said that now, as minister, he was studying problems in the Interior Ministry, as well as talking to the ministry's leadership in order to gauge their level of professionalism and level of compliance with their jobs.
