Saying they don’t know much about our country, Lonely planet describes Ukraine as "the great unknown of Europe".
In the view of hosting the upcoming 2012 UEFA European Football Championship the edition says "it's through the power of soccer that Ukraine is poised to showcase its charms to unprecedented numbers of visitors."
"So Lviv becomes the jumping-off point for Carpathian exploration, while Kyiv, which stages the final, will become base for forays to the Black Sea coast and, yep, the grim tourist attraction that is Chernobyl," reads the review.
Apart from Ukraine, according to the British experts from Lonely Planet, tourists in 2012 should also visit Uganda, Myanmar (Burma), Jordan, Denmark, Bhutan, Cuba, New Caledonia, Taiwan, Switzerland.
