The Ministry for Internal Affairs of Ukraine is checking information on illegal storage and mass purchase of weapon in Ukraine, Interior Minister Anatoly Mohyliov told the parliament during the Hour of questions to the government, ForUm correspondent reports.
He informed that police confirms the facts of mass sale of weapons, but he did not give any details. "Indeed, the ministry has such information and we are confirming it now. There is a large number of illegal weapons and the ministry is investigating the case," he said.
Commenting on the facts on illegal weapon sale by police officials in Kharkiv and Lviv, Mohyliov noted that it was triggered by irresponsible control over weapons depots. "The problem has been eliminated and there are no more similar facts," the Minister summed up.
