The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted amendments to the law "On Television and Radio broadcasting", having reduced the quota of Ukrainian audio-visual production from 50% to 25%, ForUm correspondent reports.

The draft bill submitted by Party of regions MP Olena Bondarenko got support of 238 deputies.

According to ForUm's information, none of the amendments proposed by the opposition was adopted. During and after the voting the opposition kept shouting "Shame".

Under the law, national audio-visual production shall make up at least twenty-five percent of broadcasting of any television and radio organization. It's worth to mention that the matter concerns not the Ukrainian language, but programs produced in Ukraine.
