This year police have withdrawn from circulations 2781 units of firearms, ForUm learned from the press office of the Interior Ministry.
According to ministry information, annually police withdraw sufficiently large number of weapon and explosives. "This year we speak about 2781 units of firearms, including 4 grenade dispensers, 2 machine guns, 40 automatic guns, 176 rifles and short rifles, 250 guns, 608 sawn-off guns, 1.5 thousand units of self-made weapons, 426 grenades, 116.7 thousand bullets, 738 kg explosives and 678 kg gun powder," the report says.
Interior Ministry underlines that among the channels of illegal weapon circulation there are first of all thefts from storage facilities and weapon depots of military units and institutions, which use or produce weapon.
