President Viktor Yanukovych considers Government’s work to simplify the conditions of doing business in Ukraine insufficiently effective, he said at today’s enlarged Cabinet meeting.

"Businessmen see very little of the deregulation declared by the Government. There are no ‘single windows’ operating. Supervisory authorities’ pressure on enterprises remains significant ", said Viktor Yanukovych.

"Therefore, I would like to ask: Which objective difficulties in the area of business prevented the Government to eliminate the duplication of numerous documents needed to obtain permits, change the approaches to state supervision from direct control to prevention and avoid violation of the law?"  the President said.

"If the only reason is the Committee on Enterprise that was eliminated, then, as I told Mykola Azarov yesterday: Let’s renew the Committee's work and let's see what would happen," said Viktor Yanukovych.

He also said the Government has not developed the legislation establishing controlling agencies officials’ responsibility for failing to comply with control procedures and causing damages to a business entity.

"Proper resolution of these issues would substantially improve business and investment climate in the country," Viktor Yanukovych said.
