Representatives of the Chernobyl public organizations, who are holding a protest action in front of the parliament, have refused from the Cabinet's proposition to increase their pensions by 25% and demand to increase them manyfold, vice PM Serhiy Tigipko told a briefing in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We had rather emotional negotiations with the people in front of the Cabinet. The protesters say take everything, but fulfill the draft bill 6810. According to this drat bill, disabled Chernobyl liquidator of III group should be paid six minimal pensions months, which is 4800 hryvnias, disabled of II group - 6400 hryvnias, and disabled of I group - 8 thousand hryvnias. This is the main demand, voiced by the protesters' delegation," the vice PM said.

Tigipko informed that the Cabinet had not calculated what it would cost the budget to accept the demand of the protesters.  He also said the Cabinet's figures and those voiced by protesters are different, but added that the discussion on whether to increase the pensions by 25% or to pay them in accordance with the law 6910 continues.
