October 29 Lviv ceremoniously opened a new stadium 'Lviv Arena'.

The staging of the ceremony was based on the story of the bright moments in the history of the Lviv City and appeared to be a real carnival and pyrotechnic show with performance of Ukrainian singer Ruslana and US pop star Anastacia.

The stadium was 90% full. The best football players of the region welcomed and congratulated the visitors, and children were charged with cutting the blue strip, symbolizing the opening of the stadium.

The event did not include speeches or congratulations of the authorities' representatives. Vice PM and Minister for infrastructure and development Borys Kolesnikov was watching the show form the spectator place. He told journalists after the show he would deliver a speech during the opening ceremony of the Lviv airport.

Having opened the Lviv Arena Ukraine has officially put in commission all four stadiums, aimed at hosting Euro 2012 matches.

The capacity of the stadium is 34,915 seats (32,767 – for EURO 2012). The design of seats for the arena is designed in such a way as to create a maximum effect of presence of fans on the field.
While holding mass events 19 fast foods outlets located on the promenade and 7 fast food outlets selling foodstuffs and drinks on the outer perimeter of the stadium will serve guests. The Arena has 4,500 parking spaces, of which 100 are for the disabled.
