Aid of the president of Ukraine Anna Herman believes it is expedient to unite some ministries and departments of the current government into one institution.
In an interview with Weekly.ua Herman said she stands for formation of one Ministry of education, culture and information.
"The idea of merging of ministries of education and culture, adding the department on information is worth to be considered. These are interrelated issues, but decisions on them are not coordinated in different departments. That's why we have such hodgepodge in our humanitarian policy," Herman noted.
The President's aid states that merging of ministries will, first of all, save maintenance costs. "But the main point is that we will have coordinated work in the spheres of education, culture and information technologies," she added.
Presently there are two ministries, functioning separately: Education Ministry headed by Dmytro Tabachnyk and Ministry of culture headed by Mykhailo Kulyniaka.
