Today’s negotiations allowed Ukraine and Brazil to update the priorities of their bilateral cooperation, President Viktor Yanukovych said in a statement following the Ukrainian-Brazilian negotiations, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

According to the President, priorities in all spheres of cooperation were set, particularly in trade, space, military, technology, and energy.

"Maintaining international contacts at the highest level is useful for deepening mutual understanding and cooperation," said Viktor Yanukovych. Therefore, he added, the parties recognized the need to maintain effective and continuous dialogue at the level of Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries.

According to the President, he and his Brazilian counterpart also agreed on the importance of effective work of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Brazilian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. "We have highlighted the fruitful work of that effective mechanism of bilateral cooperation, including the fifth session of the Commission held in late September this year," he said.
Ukraine and Brazil have also agreed to hold regular joint business forums in both countries.

"We have agreed that the first business forum will be held in Brazil attended by the representatives of big business, public sector, and local governments of the two countries," he said.

According to the President, the parties have also discussed in detail the prospects of Ukrainian-Brazilian cooperation in energy sector, particularly concerning the use of renewable energy. "I am convinced -our countries' cooperation in this direction is quite promising," said Viktor Yanukovych.
