Kyiv mayor Oleksandr Popov decreed to organize social patrol in the city during winter period from December 1, 2011 till April 1, 2012. The decree provides for formation of the city headquarter for helping homeless people, including three mobile teams, ForUm learned from the press office of the city administration.
The main department on social protection is tasked with increasing the number of beds in the city shelter by 30%. District administrations are tasked with formation of banks of clothes and shoes with the help of sponsors, charity organizations and citizens. The main health care department is tasked with rendering medical assistance to homeless people, including allocation of ambulance cars for social mobile teams and provision of treatment in hospitals.
