In November Orthodox churches of Kyiv will offer new service - confession by phone. People with grave diseases or handicapped can now call a priest and confess at any time, Serhiy Kosovski, a representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchy, said in an interview with "Segodnya newspaper".
"There will be two priests with phones. The numbers we will announce in the nearest future. Any person, wishing to confess, will be able to call at any time. Of course, this confession won't be full, as people cannot take communion," farther Serhiy said.
At the same time Church representatives say that the phone for confession is created for "emergency" situations only. Those, who just want to talk about God, will still have to come to church and talk to a priest personally.
