Former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko pleaded not guilty in the new criminal proceedings instituted by the Security Service of Ukraine on October 12. This was stated by her defender Serhiy Vlasenko, UKRINFORM reported.

The lawyer said that a standard first interrogation was held Tuesday, and, as Yulia Tymoshenko's defender put it, "the investigator as always was able to articulate the essence of the charges."

"Instead, he began to recount what he wrote in his papers. And when he was asked simple questions, he could not find answers to them," Vlasenko said.

According to him, Tymoshenko said that she does not plead guilty. She claims there is no evidence of her guilt in the case file. "The very accusation is absurd and illogical," Serhiy Vlasenko said.
