Party of Regions insists Yanukovych still going to Brussels

The Party of regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov is convinced the visit of President Yanukovych to Brussels will take place, as he told a briefing in response to the question to comment on the delay announced by the European Commission, ForUm correspondent reports.

"You are ill-informed. At our place the visit of the President has not been cancelled. I don't know where you found this information, but yesterday I personally saw the head of the European Union delegation in Kiev calling Brussels, where they confirmed and agreed on a meeting with Ukraine's President on Thursday.

As a reminder, the European Union delegation in Kiev said Tuesday that Yanukovych’s visit planned for Thursday has been put off “until a later occasion when conditions would be more conducive to make progress on bilateral relations.”
