The press office of the European Union delegation in Kiev says that a trip to Brussels by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has been postponed.
The press office did not specify on whose initiative - Ukrainian or European - the decision to delay the visit was made.
At the same time the delegation said Tuesday that Yanukovych’s visit planned for Thursday has been put off “until a later occasion when conditions would be more conducive to make progress on bilateral relations.”
Some believe that was a clear reference to last week’s seven-year sentence handed down to former premier Yulia Tymoshenko on charges of abuse of office.
