The faction of the Party of Regions will decide on the time issue taking into account the scientific recommendations, received by the parliament, the faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Our position is to get the conclusions and take a decision on the basis of them," he noted.
"Our state has big territory, and if Western regions do not agree with the current decision because the sun rises later there, than the decision to make otherwise will mean that the Eastern regions will have 'night' at 4 p.m. It is not convenient as well. It would be right to find a compromise, so the West and East can come to terms," the MP said.
At the same time Yefremov declared he was against the establishment of regional time. "If we start dividing our territory in accordance with time zones, it will cause a number of inconveniences, including in the economy," he declared.
