Deputy of the regional council of Ternopil Stepan Barna submitted an initiative to name one of Ternopil's streets after Apple founder Steve Jobs.
"Yesterday I officially applied to the Ternopil city council with the request to name one of our streets after the important figure of the modern world - Steve Jobs. This street should become a symbol of Ukraine's lost potential in high technologies. One of the first computers was created on our territory. And unfortunately thousands of our IT specialists work abroad," Barna said.
He also explained that the matter concerns one of new streets in news districts of the city. Barna added that the street of Jobs must also become a symbol of hope.
"I believe some time will pass and Ukraine will become famous not only with its fields, but with silicon valleys as well," the deputy pointed out.
