Own Silicon Valley may appear in Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Social policy Serhiy Tihipko has answered questions from Facebook users, the official's press office reported.

"We are working out a project similar to Skolkovo (Russia), or Silicon Valley (USA)," he said, adding that together with businessmen it is planned to create an industrial park of about 140 hectares in Kyiv region.

"There will be residential areas, offices and possibly one or two academic or research institutions," Tihipko emphasized, UKRINFORM reported.

According to him, a project work and settlement of legal issues is planned for the next year. The deputy prime minister also stressed that the town will be built on the basis of the partnership conditions between business and the state. It will significantly cheaper housing and office space for IT-entrepreneurs, who will be working there.

Apart from this, Tihipko believes that it is necessary to create IT incubators at dormitories of technical universities to ensure that young entrepreneurs be able to start a business, and create a state investment fund to support start-ups. "This will help the company pass through this very difficult time, when there is a product, but not sale. And here the state should get involved in," Tihipko added.

The press office also reminded that a working group led by Tihipko, which includes representatives of IT-Ukraine Association and the rectors of technical universities, has developed amendments to laws aimed to support the IT sector. They, in particular, provide for tax cuts for IT companies.
