The Parliament of Ukraine has given its first reading to the presidential draft bill on decriminalization of the economic crimes. 278 out of 395 MPs registered in the hall voted in support of the bill.
The draft bill provides for commutation of the imprisonment to fine. In particular, the matter concerns smuggling, fictitious bankruptcy, swindling and fraud. The fine will be determined by court depending on offense severity, but within the limits from 30 to 50 thousand tax free minimal wages.
Court can replace the fine with other forms of punishment only in case the fine has not been paid on time.
