Ukraine and Greece should actively develop their traditionally friendly partnership relations. Such a belief has been expressed by the President at the meeting with President of Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias in Athens.
President Viktor Yanukovych has noted that Ukrainian and Greek people have long been associated by the feelings of mutual respect and support. “Such traditions and ties between our people do not depend on the political situation,” the President said, ForUm learnd in the presidential press office.
“Today Greece and its people suffer a difficult period. The situation is also difficult in our country, but we have come today with an understanding that exactly in such periods we should work hard to find an opportunity to support and help each other. It will confirm those ancient traditions of good relations between Ukraine and Greece," the President said.
The President of Hellenic Republic in welcoming his Ukrainian counterpart on behalf of the Greek people has expressed confidence that the state visit of Viktor Yanukovych would be an important step in the development of bilateral Ukrainian-Greek relations. “I am delighted to welcome you and your delegation. It is a very important moment in the development of relations between our countries,"- said Karolos Papoulias.
