British ambassador to Ukraine Leigh Turner believes that the construction of the storage facility for waste ionizing radiation sources in Ukraine will help to lower the risk of terrorist threat in the world.
At the opening ceremony of the construction of the nuclear waste storage Turner noted that it is very important for his country to take part in this project. According to him, its realization will help to collect nuclear waste from all over Ukraine, which can cut the possibility of using the waste by terrorists, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The most part of works has been financed by the government of the Great Britain," the ambassador informed, specifying that the Great Britain allocated 8 million pounds and the EU gave 2 million euros.
Turner also underlined that the construction of the storage will provide the highest level of security for the inside nuclear waste.
