The parliament of Ukraine filed to pass the draft bill submitted by BYuT on decriminalization of the article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power - ed.), ForUm correspondent reports from the session hall.
The lack of votes outraged the representatives of BYuT faction, who immediately gathered around the presidium and held a short blocking action.
BYuT faction leader Ivan Kyrylenko delivered a speech concerning "the only possible sentence of acquittal, which will save the reputation of the country, good name of the judicial system and image of the authorities."
Commenting on the situation the Party of Regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov underlined once again that the parliament cannot adopt laws just for a certain person or certain case. "Otherwise, all crimes committed by officials will be considered politically motivated," he said.
